I feel fantastic - I wake up with energy
in the morning - for the first time for as long as I can remember I wake up
and want to get up - so of course I think you are fantastic Sahaja.

Hello %%FNAMEFriend%%

Hasn't the rain been wonderful? Renewing and refreshing all that dried out summer soil.

We have two tiny honeyeater eggs incubating in a big hare's foot fern at the back of the house - Sahaja sneaked this pic when mama bird was briefly away.

We have been very busy revamping our website (that's incubating as well!)- not ready yet, but we hope we will all love the new stylish look once it is finally finished. It is such detailed work that we feel a great need to expand our vision and look at the horizon very often.  This is something we can all remind ourselves to do regularly - when things get so close to your nose, sometime you cannot see the big picture anymore.

Have a great week.

Best wishes to you all
Sahaja & Shazar

We will be in Sydney in August at the Natural Therapy Trade Expo - if any of you who are practitioners or students who would like a free ticket for this, then please go to this link and register. Come and say hello at Stand 30 and get a close-up look at what the Avatar can do.

Some Interesting Facts:

On a daily basis, dehydration is the number one trigger of fatigue, nausea, headaches, lethargy and constipation. Interestingly, just a 5% drop in body water will cause up to a 30% loss of energy in the average person.......from the Tri-Vortex online course.

And for those of you who are on the East coast don't miss the fascinating information to be presented by Anton Ungerer at the free Trivortex Energy and Water in Healing workshops to be held in August. Your invitation  and more information is here.

Alkalise
your System

Give yourself a boost in the morning and keep those colds and flu's at bay.  Squeeze the juice of one lemon, add a small teaspoon of unprocessed honey (by the way did you know that West Australian Jarrah Honey has been found to have the same immune system building properties as the famous NZ Manuka honey?) add warm water and drink.
A tip to make squeezing those hard little lemons easier.. roll the lemon firmly with your hand on a hard surface before cutting - it will be much easier to squeeze.  (Thanks to Jenny Johnson in NZ).

Blueberries, strawberries, cranberries and raspberries are all high in flavonoids which are crucial to your health. They have been found to strengthen arteries, veins, capillaries, and nearly all connective tissue, and  reduce the risk of heart attack, lower blood pressure  and improve memory. And a new study has shown that blueberries reduce the risk of colon cancer by 57%

One of the yummiest food supplements we have on our shelf is "AnthoBerry" made from these goodies. Ask for a taste when you are next in the clinic.

Time For Soup!

These cooler wintry days lend themselves to a great steaming bowl of soup.

Try a good hearty lentil soup.  You can use a variety of lentils, the simple green ones you find in the supermarket, or get more adventurous with the different varieties that you find in Asian grocery stores. Start with frying onions, add some garlic if you like, 1- 2 cloves, a teaspoon of mustard seeds, 1 teaspoon of mixed curry powder - try kurma or dhal spices - also ready mixed from the Asian food store. Neither of these are very hot. Add the lentils - 1-2 cups depending on how many you are feeding - and then add water to well cover them. Some good quality stock at this stage is also nice.  Add a couple of roughly chopped carrots and two potatoes.  No need to peel either of these especially if you can find organic ones. In fact much of the nutrient content is found just below the skin so a good scrub is all that is needed.

Simmer it slowly until the lentils are soft.  To serve, add a dash of good quality virgin olive oil, a handful of chopped coriander, or perhaps a dash of Tamari (good quality soya sauce) Eat and enjoy.  (and if you made too much like we often manage to do - it can be frozen to enjoy another day.)

Pets help to keep you sane!

Why?  Simply because you can totally be yourself with your pet.
Stress reduction is a major factor - just try stroking your cat, or playing with your dog next time you feel stress building and getting on top of you.

It will reduce your blood pressure!

This by the way is Xena making a fashion statement!

On another note:

Studies have also shown that if  children raised in a house with two or more dogs or cats during the first year of life may be less likely to develop allergic diseases as compared with children raised without pets, according to a study in the Journal of the American Medical Association.  This is another indicator that  we may live in too clean an environment.  A bit of exposure to various allergens, and other bacterial organisms can develop our immune systems and help us to have natural resistance.
