Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.

Hello

Summer suddenly left us and daylight saving is over. The sparrows amongst us who love the early morning are happy to wake in the light again - the early beach walk in the dark was not the same at all!

And what about miracles! Have a look at this - during a Peace Concert in the US Capitol, a large cloth peace sign was laid out lightly on the grass for a few hours. Next day it was found that the grass had grown longer and greener where it had been leaving a clear peace sign behind!

And as always, there have been some interesting snippets coming our way lately - and some of these really made us sit up and think. We have given you some links below.

Enjoy the autumn days and don't forget to contact us if you would like assistance with your health, your spirit, your moods, your life.  That's just what we are here for!

Best wishes to you all

Cost of Nuclear Power

It is estimated that if the go-ahead for a nuclear power station were to be given tomorrow it would still take 15 years before the first nuclear power station would be commissioned and that is 2025. By 2025, with business as usual, Australia's greenhouse emissions and energy demand will have grown unchecked and resulted in Australia's greenhouse emissions exceeding 130 per cent of 1990 levels. (Comments from Senator Allison Australian Democrats).

It has been suggested that for the cost of building one nuclear reactor, we could install solar panels and a water tank in every household in Australia. Sounds like a good solution to us!

And while we are on the subject of power -

Let's save it! Turn off those lights, turn off that standby on your TV, stereo, home office fax, printer, computer, mobile phone charger, anything you are not using and watch your power bill go down.

According to Dr Tony Marker (Chairman of the National Appliance and Equipment Energy Efficiency Committee), standby power consumption accounts for up to 10% or more of Australia's household electricity usage. This costs Australian households more than $500,000,000 and there is also an environmental cost as it generates more than 5,000,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per annum. YEEK!!

And of course you can also help by opting for Green Power which will encourage our power companies to utilise more sustainable energy.

More on Juicing!

Why are we on about this topic?  Simple - it makes you feel good.  It starts your day with a zing, and cleanses your body right down to the cellular level.

Juicing cleans the liver! and the liver in turn cleanses the blood. When you improve liver function you improve everything from your brain function, to sleep to handling stress, to dealing with the chemical overload of modern day life.

Vegetable juices enter the body quickly and easily - there is hardly any digestive work needed to process this enzyme rich food.

It is very nutrient dense and will supercharge your system and the cleansing it does is the key behind keeping your body free of degenerative diseases, and digestive problems.

So where to start - a simple juice recipe that tastes great -

Carrrots and celery - lots, half a beetroot, a small knob of ginger for extra zing, a handful of parsley -  It is so easy - and for the best quality juice use organic vegetables and make sure you use the best quality juicer - we of course recommend the Compact Juicer as it is  a crushing type of juicer which keeps the enzymes alive and retains up to 60% more nutrients than conventional juicers.  Not only that but it still priced at a very reasonable $249. (RRP $349) For more info.

If you want to get really creative and give your liver a wonderful treat, wheatgrass can also be juiced with the Compact.  You can grow your own with organic wheat. See our instructions here.

MSG and Obesity

A study done in Germany with rats has demonstrated that only slightly higher dosages of MSG have significant potential for damaging the hypothalamic regulation of appetite.  In other words, if you are eating MSG, you may find that you feel hungry all the time.  Yet another reason to avoid eating Numbers!

MSG = 621.

And by the way, on inspection of all those flavoured cans of tuna on the shelf these days.. many of them contain sugar!
